PawCheck Dog Health helps dog owners check visible health concerns such as poop, skin, gums, vomit, food, and symptoms, then organize notes, photos, risk checks, and care reminders. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as your email address (only if you choose to provide one) or an anonymous account identifier we generate on your device.
- Dog profile details you enter, such as name, breed, age, weight, and care notes.
- Photos, images, or short videos you choose to check or save in the app. Short videos may include audio if your device records audio with the clip.
- Check results, health history entries, diary entries, care records, reminders, and app activity.
- A push notification token from your device, so our notification service providers can deliver reminders you opted into. These tokens are not sold.
- Purchase and subscription status from Apple and RevenueCat.
- Basic crash, device, and usage data needed to operate and improve the app.
Anonymous accounts
You can use PawCheck without entering an email address. When you do, the app creates an anonymous account with our authentication provider to save your dog profiles and check history. Access to this account is tied to your app install: if you reinstall the app or move to a new device without a recoverable sign-in, a new anonymous account may be created and the previous data may no longer be accessible.
How we use information
- To provide dog photo and video checks, risk-level health checks, care tracking, health histories, reminders, and reports.
- To send health, medication, and appointment reminders you choose to turn on.
- To keep your account, dog profiles, check history, and subscription status in sync.
- To improve reliability, understand feature usage, and fix bugs.
- To respond to support requests and prevent misuse of the service.
AI and veterinary disclaimer
PawCheck is an informational wellness tool. It is not a veterinarian, does not diagnose disease, and should not replace professional veterinary care. If you think your dog may be sick, injured, or in distress, contact a veterinarian or emergency clinic.
Service providers
We use providers to operate the app, including Supabase for backend services and authentication, Google Gemini and backup AI model providers reached through OpenRouter for photo and video analysis, RevenueCat for subscription management, Apple for purchases and push notification delivery, Resend for transactional emails, and Expo services for app delivery and notifications.
Reports and sharing
Vet reports are created on your device from the dog records you select. When you choose to share a report or image, your device's sharing controls let you choose the recipient or app. Information you share is then subject to the recipient's handling and policies.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. In Settings, choose Delete Account to delete your account, dog profiles, saved checks, care records, and photos stored by PawCheck. This option also works for guest accounts. We request deletion of the associated RevenueCat customer record; provider deletion may finish asynchronously. The app removes its saved local account records and reminders after the server confirms deletion. Copies you previously shared or saved outside PawCheck are not removed.
A minimal deletion receipt containing an account identifier and a hashed random request identifier is retained so an interrupted request can finish safely. Completed receipts expire after 30 days and are removed during subsequent cleanup. An unfinished deletion receipt remains until the request is completed. Apple manages subscription billing separately: deleting your PawCheck account does not cancel an Apple subscription. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple account subscription settings. Contact support if you need help with a deletion request.
